And, in case you didn't notice last time, this has happened before. The previous gift, the Royalty Body Shirt, was also a jumpsuit, and a re-coloured version of a previously available item. So... what am I so unimpressed about?
I think it would be obvious.
Quite simply, these are gag gifts. They're so promising, and such a small taste of what you'd expect for how much loyalty and payments Royalty members put in. I don't expect to be showered with gifts, but to have items simply recoloured and sold back to us is just appalling. If you're going to re-colour something, stick it into BASICS. No one is convinced that it's a good deal. If you're going to make something to keep your members happy, put some effort into it!
The other recent item, the Pearl Beaded Jacket, was an original Superstar exclusive gift. It, too, was very similar to a number of similar items gone by, but at least it was not a simply re-coloured version - the pose was different, there was added texture, and it was actually something new. It's not my personal favourite, granted, but there was a clear effort put in by the stardoll staff.
And don't get me started on the bizzare mix that is the Superstar Weekly gifts..
Let's hope that whatever comes next, for Royalty and SS members all round, is much more original than these recent items.
