So many people claim that blue and black should never be paired together - and I totally disagree.Like anything, it's all about the proportions, and if you've read this blog at all, you'll know I live by the Rule of Thirds. If you don't know what that means, click HERE.
Many dislike navy with black specifically, due to the similarities in colour and tone. While my biggest pet peeve is having colours that don't quite match, I think there's plenty of tonal difference between blue and black. One has no colour, one is a shade of a primary colour. Totally different!
And if you haven't worn denim with black, well, you're either lying or crazy.
Black and blue are such great combinations because both work so well as neutral tones. Denim is paired with every colour imaginable, as is black - so sticking them together doesn't stop you from adding more elsewhere.
This is a silly rule, that's for sure, and I certainly won't be following it.
