Anyway, on with the review!
What I LOVED:
The window! I'm not sure who stardoll hired recently, but they've been doing a really great job of styling some very decent, actually coordinating outfits for display. And I'm into it!
There's guys items! Okay, not a lot, but it's absolutely a start.
The non-seasonallessness! Not really a word, but you know what I mean. As someone grasping desperately at spring, seeing stardoll go all autumn-coloured is a bit conflicting for me. I love neutrals, but I want something pretty and floral to fit my own mood. So having this nice blend of festival-style, any-season-goes type clothing is a nice transition before everyone starts wearing orange again.
Initial Picks:
While trialling them out in the starplaza, I fell a little in love with the Knitted Zip Crop Top, so bought it for myself and a friend gifted me the Cotton Draw String Culottes. However, using them in-suite left me much less convinced. I still like them, I'm just not so sure which items out of this floor are actually my best picks yet.
What's "MEH":
First of all, there's actually two very cute, very usable starcoin items! I'm not going to count the overpriced camo hat, but two out of three is pretty good. The jumpsuit I think could have been cooler as a top and bottom, but you can't win at everything.
I love khaki greens and reds, but as a colour scheme, this doesn't excite me very much. I'm happy to say it looks decently coherent, I'm just not really getting any real "buy me" vibes.
What I Disliked:
Surprisingly, I didn't hate anything.
But on thing that's no good is most of he graphics. These are all super flat and, as I brought up while writing over at Models.Company, they look either weirdly flat chested, or like they're hiding super shiny disco balls under their shirts. Neither of which is a good look.
The .. shoes? Wit the badly-named "mules", there's something oddly short and compacted looking about them. IRL, I have tiny feet, so part of me thinks maybe they're modeled off a small-footed person. Or not. On the other hand, the "Straw Lace Up Platforms" are the point where chunky goes too far into clunky. They're just not cute, and the flat graphics are not helping.
Overall, this is just not a particularly "buy me" collection. We've seen wide leg pants, khakis, jumpsuits and striped boob tubes plenty of times before, after all.
