They're huge right now, in a way that's so subtle most people don't even notice that it's a trend.
Personally, I think they're the perfect line between the classic blue jean, and the goes-with-everything black jean. Like their black counter parts, they're a little bit edgy, but being able to choose from light or dark shades like with blue jeans, allows much more variety in your wardrobe - without sacrificing that essential goes-with-everything requirement.
There's plenty of washes and styles to choose from, but the most flatting is always high-waisted skinnies, but there's plenty of other kinds out there to choose from.
My one complaint is that, like a white or black pant, dirt is going to show up on these. Which I believe is one of the key reasons why a dark blue wash is every girls' staple jean.
