I love wearing skirts and shorts as shirts. And vice versa!

I've been using them pretty much since I joined stardoll. It's super simple and a cool way to update your look. It's something that's a lot harder to pull off in real life, which makes it all the more fun in a virtual world.  Here's a couple of outfits I've made previously:

This skirt, above, is one of my favourites when it comes to this trick. I've used it several times on the blog.

I made this one for FM-STYLE by layering a number of shirts, bras, belts, and a scarf to create a crop top.

Step 1 - Pick A Skirt

The best skirts reach from about your doll's collarbone to where you want the waistband of your pants to sit. Almost any pattern and shape will work - but step 2 is crucial to making it look like a shirt!

2: Pick A Jacket

Depending on the shape of your skirt - or shorts - you'll need to find a jacket that covers up the fact that it won't fit properly around the doll's body. Flared skirts may require an oversized coat for example.

For a sleeveless look, use an off-the-shoulder jacket and shift the skirt over so that it looks like the visible side "fits" the dolls body, while the other half - which will likely poke out over your dolls' arm - is obscured by your jacket.

3: Add pants - or another pair of skirts or shorts - and you're ready to go!
