I have noticed the demand and use of wide sleeves has increased all across stardoll. I like the look of them, though they can be a little hard to style, so I took to Polyvore as I usually do, to try and find the real-life inspiration for this trend.
What I found was very, very limited. And the more I went searching for examples, the more I realized just how completely impractical this is. Anyone who owns a long, bell-sleeved top knows the pain of having your sleeves catch on things, dangle into things, and generally get in the way. Having excess at the top of the arm, or the middle, or really anywhere on your arm would do just the same thing. Sleeves that are top-heave also need to be made in lighter fabrics, which doesn't keep you very warm - jackets being what most of this trend has turned into on stardoll - or it has to be enforced with things like shoulder-pads or wires.
I was able to find a few designer and runway examples but ended up just not doing a collage at all.As cool as it might look on our screens and on models, this isn't a trend that will hit my wardrobe very soon.
